What Happens During the Treatment?

The process will start with consultation and evaluation with Dr. Okwuje to establish if you are an ideal candidate for this treatment and to help you decide on the best treatment plan to address your goals and concerns.

Each treatment session is short and lasts about 20-30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. First, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the area being treated if needed to reduce any associated discomfort. Then the treated area will be thoroughly cleansed.

The Venus Viva system with the applicator will be expertly used to treat the specific areas selected. You will feel a warm sensation during the treatment, and you might experience what can be compared to slight pinpricks or little rubber band snaps with different pulses.

We will follow up with a patient-specific post-procedure topical application to protect your skin, and detailed post-treatment instructions will be provided and discussed if needed.

What Results Can I Expect After the Treatment? How Long Will They Last?

The treatment’s outstanding feature is the typical 24-hour downtime, unlike laser skin treatments where recovery or downtime lasts up to 14 days. Your skin will be red and a bit sensitive for the first 24 hours in most cases. You may put on makeup and resume your regular skincare routine after 24 hours. You should always apply physical sunscreen and protect your skin and avoid vigorous exercise and hot baths or massages on the treatment area for the first two days after your treatment.
